
Dorsey will be responsible for coordinating efforts to make the county more sustainable as a whole. These efforts will include developing and implementing a recycling program for all county buildings, serving as a sustainability liaison to policy-makers, staff and contractors, preparing policy recommendations based on technical analysis, mapping the Adams County supply chain and developing a program to make it more sustainable and promoting awareness and education regarding sustainability issues.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help advance Adams County’s commitment to sustainability,” said Dorsey. “I look forward to working with elected officials, county employees and citizens to establish initiatives, programs and projects that will reap positive environmental, economic and social benefits for the county as a whole.”
Prior to accepting the sustainability coordinator position, Dorsey served as the Open Space Grant Coordinator in the Adams County Parks & Community Resources Department. She also participates on the Adams County Green Team, Women in Sustainable Energy and Front Range Sustainability Coordinator Network. Dorsey has a B.S. Degree in Natural Resources Management from Colorado State University and an M.A.S. in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver.
