All 4-year old Jeremy wants to be when he grows up is to be a Fire Fighter. He loves the idea of helping people, he loves climbing into trees to save cats in need, and most important of all, he loves the firemen’s gear, which he already has a little version of, including the cool boots.
So on Saturday it was a dream come true for Jeremy, when the South Adams County Volunteer Fire Department came to Reunion for his 4th birthday celebration at the Park. Not one, but two big amazing fire trucks came to the party with lights and sirens blaring.
Jeremy was able to talk to the firefighters, learning everything there is about becoming one of his heroes in the future when he is a little bit older. Jeremy was able to go inside the fire trucks and even use an actual fire hose, which he later used on his older sister Natalie. The party was complete with birthday cake and presents. The fire chief of South Adams County Volunteer Fire Department Derek Ross even presented Jeremy with a real official Fireman helmet.
The event was made possible by Jeremy’s Dad Mike, who won a silent bid auction at a school event for a reality firefighter birthday party.
Editor’s Note: This story was made possible by the South Adams County Volunteer Fire Department in two ways. First by their generous donation of the reality firefighter birthday party and more importantly by rescuing the writer of this story when he was 18 months old from a burning townhome at 72cnd and Quebec in Commerce City. We at the Gateway News love the volunteer firefighters and their dedication to our community.
