Rodger Quist is the recipient of this year’s Joe Gomez Award. Each Year Almost Home, Inc. awards the Joe Gomez Memorial Award in recognition of an individual who displays a passion for serving the underserved in the community. The award is named in honor of the late Joe Gomez, a stalwart in the community, whose charitable efforts were one of the driving forces behind the creation of Almost Home, Inc.
Mr. Quist has a long history of public service. He worked in the 27J school district for over 38 years, serving in a number of capacities from teacher to superintendant. Mr. Quist has served on the board of Almost Home, Inc for over 5 years. Mostly recently he completed a term as board president. During his time as president of the board at Almost Home, Inc., Mr. Quist was instrumental in refinancing the Hughes Station apartment complex in Brighton. Mr. Quist continues to serve on the Almost Home, Inc. Board of Directors and will no doubt continue to do great work there.
Almost Home, Inc. is a Brighton, CO based non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate self-sufficiency for homeless families or individuals in need of housing assistance by providing both temporary and transitional “work force” housing, along with case management services.
