Dana was born in Michigan. Growing up, he played baseball, football, rode bicycles, started a school newspaper, and worked around his house and yard. While going to school, he had a paper route, was involved in student council, honor society, pep club, sports, and elected Vice-President of his senior class. He graduated from Michigan State University with a business degree and followed Horace Greeley’s advice to “Go West, young man” and moved to Colorado. He worked for almost 20 years at Radio Shack, including 13 years at the downtown 16th Street Mall location and was repeatedly recognized by senior management as one of their best managers. Taking on a new challenge at Qwest Communications, he earned numerous customer service awards and helped propel his center into the number one location for sales and service. Dana has served on two City of Thornton Advisory Boards and is currently President of his 628-member Homeowners Association Board of Directors. He was widowed last year.
