Scott D. Perriman Passes Away Oct. 4th, 2011...

A memorial service for Scott D. Perriman was held Monday, Oct. 10, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3990 West 74th Ave. in Westminster.

Mr. Perriman, 45, the owner of MetroNorth Newspapers and Mile High Newspapers, died Tuesday, Oct 4.

The Westminster native purchased MetroNorth Newspapers in 2000, and bought Mile High Newspapers in 2006. MetroNorth publishes the Northglenn-Thornton Sentinel, Westminster Window and Westsider; Mile High publishes the Golden Transcript, Arvada Press, Lakewood Sentinel and Wheat Ridge Transcript.

Mr. Perriman graduated from Regis Jesuit High School and attended Colorado State University. At CSU, he edited the Rocky Mountain Collegian newspaper and was honored by the National Society of Professional Journalists for editorial writing.

In the early 1990s, Perriman worked as sports editor and then community editor for MetroNorth Newspapers.

He joined the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce staff as communications director in 1994, became president and CEO of the organization a year later, then resigned in 2000 when he purchased MetroNorth Newspapers.
